The
Housing Choice Voucher Program provides rental
assistance to low-income families in the private rental market. Qualified
applicants
may obtain quality housing in the neighborhoods
of their choice using a Housing Choice Voucher. The unit, selected
by the applicant,
must pass the required inspection guidelines and
a required
rent reasonable assessment . KCDC then executes a contract with the
property owner to provide
subsidy rental payments on behalf of the
participant. If the participate chooses to relocate, KCDC’s
contract with the owner ends.
The rental assistance for the participant will continue after completion of inspection
requirements at the newly selected unit.
Through
The
Housing Choice Voucher Program, thousands of families have
secured quality housing in the neighborhoods of their choice.
