KCDC plans to build six duplexes of affordable housing in Five Points

Knoxville's Community Development Corporation plans to build six duplexes (12 units) of affordable housing in the Five Points Comprehensive Redevelopment Project area. The estimated total cost of this project is $1.1 million. The timeline includes a construction start on the units no later than May, 2010, and completion within 4 months. The six duplexes (12 units) will be located as follows: Two duplexes (4 units) will be built at the Northwest corner of Chestnut Street and Selma Avenue; two duplexes (4 units) will be built at the Southwest corner of Chestnut Street and Selma Avenue; and two duplexes (4 units) will be built at the Northeast corner of Chestnut Street and Wilson Avenue. A public hearing regarding the proposed duplexes will be held on April 20, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. at the KCDC Main Office, 901, Broadway, N.E., Knoxville, Tennessee.
