KCDC COO Art Cate Elected TAHRA President

Knoxville’s Community Development Corporation (KCDC) COO Art Cate was recently elected board president for the Tennessee Association of Housing and Redevelopment Authorities (TAHRA).

    Knoxville’s Community Development Corporation (KCDC) Chief Operating Officer Arthur “Art” Cate, Jr. was recently elected board president for the Tennessee Association of Housing and Redevelopment Authorities (TAHRA).

    TAHRA is a nonprofit membership association whose members include the public housing authorities in Tennessee, including KCDC. TAHRA members provide affordable housing for more than 100,000 of Tennessee's low- and moderate-income residents, including children, the elderly and handicapped persons. Cate will serve a one-year term as board president.

    Cate has worked at KCDC for 30 years and has served as COO since 2001. He is a founder and current vice chairman of the Tennessee Housing Authority Risk Management Trust; a founder and past president of the Emphasys National User Group (ENUG); and current vice chairman of the Administrative Practices Committee of SERC-NAHRO (Southeastern Regional Council-National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials). He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tennessee.

    Cate resides in Fountain City with his wife, Cammie.
