Today is Groundhog Day, the day that Punxsutawney Phil comes out of his burrow to predict the weather for the rest of the winter. If you’re like me, you’ve got your fingers crossed that he predicts an early spring.
We’ve sure had a tough winter so far, and I’m afraid that despite what Phil predicts, we’re probably in for quite a few more frigid days and nights.

Given the tough economic times, more families than ever need help staying safe and warm this winter. That’s why I encourage you to support Project Help. It’s an emergency heating-assistance program that helps people who need temporary help with their heating bills.
KUB collects the donations, and the Knoxville-Knox County Community Action Committee (CAC) administers the program. All donations go directly to provide assistance to those in need.
Last year, Project Help provided more than $146,000 of heating assistance to 859 families or individuals. That’s what I call sharing the warmth!
Please do something heartwarming this winter and give to Project Help. Even $1 a month on your KUB bill can help a neighbor in need. The back of each bill explains how to make a one-time donation or a monthly pledge.
