Coats for the Cold

Temperatures have really tumbled lately, and I’ve sure been glad to have a warm coat while braving the elements. But, as we bundle up to watch a football game, take a stroll downtown or just to run from the car to the house, we need to stop and remember those who can’t afford a warm coat this season.

This is the last week to donate to the Knoxville Area Rescue Ministries “Coats for the Cold” campaign. Now through Nov. 22, you can drop off coats you no longer need and help improve the lives of those less fortunate.

Special needs include new and used trendy coats for the teen boutique; children, toddler and baby coats, hats and mittens; and heavy coats in adult sizes.

KCDC is one of many area companies collecting for the event. If your employer isn’t taking donations, you can still donate. Drop-offs are available at any area Goody’s location or at Prestige Cleaners on Emory Road.

This is your opportunity to clean out your closet and extend kindness to those in need.

KCDC’s mission is to improve and transform neighborhoods and communities by providing quality affordable housing, advancing development initiatives and fostering self-sufficiency. For more information, call (865) 403-1100 or visit http://www.kcdc.org.
