More than 35 KCDC employees recently took part in training that may save a life someday. These individuals obtained or renewed their American Red Cross first aid and CPR certifications. Training for Life

More than 35 KCDC employees recently took part in training that may save a life someday. These individuals obtained or renewed their American Red Cross first aid and CPR certifications.

During the training, our offices looked more like an emergency room than a housing and redevelopment agency. Watching this kind of training in our own offices made it really hit home how important it is for our people to have this knowledge.

I feel better knowing that if, heaven forbid, we have a medical emergency, there are employees on-site who could help handle the situation until emergency personnel arrive on the scene. Several of them told me they would even consider saving the boss for a small fee.

The American Red Cross has trained tens of millions of people in first aid and CPR over the past 85 years. They have programs available for any age group - preschoolers to adult – that are designed to enhance understanding and increase participants' confidence and skill retention. If your organization hasn’t gone through this training program, I highly recommend it.
