A new look for Christenberry Heights

If you’re like me, you find yourself traveling I-640 a lot more often now that the Department of Transportation’s “SmartFix” project is underway.

The next time you’re traveling the stretch of I-640 between I-75 and Broadway, take a look at the major renovations taking place in the Christenberry Heights neighborhood. We think you’ll like what you see.

KCDC began this major renovation project in January 2005, and I’m happy to report that the work is nearly complete. We’re paving streets and completing some finishing touches, with an eye toward an official grand-opening ceremony in mid-November. Stay tuned for further details.

In the meantime, if you – like some other folks we’ve heard from – like the new look and are interested in living in Christenberry Heights, we’d like to hear from you. We are now accepting applications. The applications are free and are being accepted at the 712 Breda Drive office on weekdays from 7:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. When all information is received and an application is approved, the applicant’s name will be placed on a waiting list. Inquiries can be made by calling (865)403-1320.

My background is in banking, but as you can see I am taking up housing, too.

KCDC’s mission is to improve and transform neighborhoods and communities by providing quality affordable housing, advancing development initiatives and fostering self-sufficiency. For more information, call (865) 403-1100 or visit http://www.kcdc.org.
