Knoxville's Community Development Corporation (KCDC) is governed by a seven-member board which is appointed by the mayor of the City of Knoxville. Six of the Commissioners serve a five-year term each and the Resident Commissioner serves a two-year term. The Board of Commissioners provides oversight of KCDC's programs, including affordable public housing administration and rental assistance programs for qualifying citizens.
In addition, the Board oversees KCDC's activities as the city's redevelopment agency in specially designated areas of Knoxville. The KCDC Board of Commissioners holds monthly board meetings at KCDC's main office on the fourth Thursday of each month beginning at 11:30 a.m.
